- Device Identifier: We use your Android device's SETTINGS_SECURE.ANDROID_ID (or app installation timestamp as fallback) to differentiate devices for sync functionality and licensing
- App Usage Data: Reading time, playback positions, bookmarks, and audio settings (stored locally)
- File Access: We access audiobook files you choose to import for playback purposes

- Crash Reports (Optional): When enabled, crash data including stack traces, device model, Android version, and app version
- Book Sync Data (Optional): Reading progress, bookmarks, sleep timer preferences, and book metadata when sync is enabled

Permissions Explained
Our app requests the following permissions for specific functionality:

- Phone State: To pause playback during incoming calls
- Internet Access: For optional Librivox downloads and sync features
- Bluetooth: For Bluetooth headset controls (excludes location access)

Your Privacy Controls
Crash Reporting
Location: Settings → Automatic Behaviors → Crash Reporter
Default: Enabled (you can disable this at any time)
Description: Controls whether crash reports are sent to help improve app stability
Book Synchronization
Control: Completely optional feature requiring user authentication
Description: Sync reading progress across devices using Firebase cloud storage
Data Deletion: All sync data is automatically deleted when you disable the sync feature

Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Most data is processed and stored locally on your device
- Cloud Storage: Only sync data is stored in Firebase when sync is enabled
- Data Retention: Sync data includes only the 5 most recently accessed books
- Security: All data transmission uses encrypted connections
Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not contain features specifically targeted at children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
